Anyone used one......I bought one expecting it to be a £400 piece of crap - the massage equivilent of the electo pads to get a 6 pack!
Could not have been more wrong - It's foam rolling on steroids with none of the hassle.
Fixed a specifc muscular issue I had almsot ovenight.
Anyway, in case anyone was after one but worried they might suck....they dont! (no idea if the £50 Amazon ones are any good....they look like re-badge jigsaw cutters!

This guy uses a dual action car polisher. Mind you he's got quite a lot of muscle to massage. Could not have been more wrong - It's foam rolling on steroids with none of the hassle.

Seems two sectors of teh market - cheap stuff that looks like a jigsaw.....stupid expensive stuff (that still looks like a jigsaw!)
The hypervolt is £400 so cheap end of the expensive end. Best thing is it's so quiet. I can do my legs while watching TV. Love it!

No - In fact, I have been sent a couple of cheaper ones (£250 and £250) from alternative companies that asked me to review for YouTube and they are just as good. I gave the Hypervolt to my son.That said - I'm sure there's a price point where they start to suck......the stress on the unit is not low. I wouldn't want to bother with a £50 ebay special!

I have a Thumper - its a different style

Its good for quads and large areas but a bit unwieldy for the neck
I've bought one of the percussion ones for £80 so will try it out
The Thumper sorted out a problem I'd had with quads also overnight as well. It gives a different type of massage than you get from another person and the best bit is that you can hold it somewhere for a while.

Interesting, I've been thinking of buying one of these for a while. Got a tear in my shoulder (recent ultrasound confirmed - along with bursitis and a few jagged bits) and also suffer from discomfort around the knee - sometimes at the side, below, or even at the back. A quick Google reckons the knee pain could be tight hips. Do you think the Hypervolt would work for me? Also whereabouts would you place it to loosen off the hip/s?

The one I ended up purchasing was one used by my physio on me, when I Mentioned I was getting one. It's called zen professional, it's a wired one. Only £50 but damn good, it's been revelatory on my legs, but used it on lats, shoulders, maybe require a friend for that. Halb said:
