Vanquish S a year on
Discussion
Hi All - last year I bought my first Aston a new Vanquish S and a recent post below about that model prompted me to join rather just browse.
I adore the Vs and it's the first time I've really contemplated a 'forever' car. At the time I could chose either the Vs or the DBSS but for me it had to be the Vs, beautiful looks, wonderful NA sound and a better interior in my view (with a few exceptions). Overall I think the Vs is more raw than the DBSS but the DBSS being the better crusier. Ultimately though my wife summed it up (and she's not into cars) 'you're keeping that one!!'.
Anyhow both are wonderful cars and who knows I might even be tempted with a DBSS Volante next summer.
Here's the original video of my car just before I bought it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gX3SxFQO80&li...

Very, very nice. That "old, dated" interior is so much better than that in the DBSS IMO.
Exactly. The Vanq interior looks nothing like anything else (except the last gen Gaydon cars) and so its relative simplicity sets it apart. The DBSS/DB11 look like a lot of other cars (iPads, electro displays instead of real gauges, lots of buttons, etc., etc.).I attended an all-British car show over the weekend. People looking at my DBS had no idea that it was 10 years old. They said I could've claimed it to be new and they would've believed it. And they universally loved the interior design. So much for the car's interior being dated, as you say.
Aston nailed the interior and exterior of the last gen cars; downhill from there. 10 years from now, you'll look at the interior of the Vanq and the DBSS, and I know for sure which will have the most appeal to owners and the general public alike.
