Best of luck mate. Put a bit of preparation into the Hazard Perception part of the theory test as I know a few people who have great difficulty with that.

Also know a few people, like me, who found it really easy but I'd recommend you do a couple of practice tests in the week before.

Go on, you know you should get a Ninja really.. it's the only sensible thing to do!

Hi Andy,

Never really been one for the look of Kwaks, though I may change my mind when I try one (I will be trying a few bikes before I shell out for a CBR, just to be sure).

I'm a duke man at heart though, but I'm playing it (relatively) safe by going for the CBR first.....

I bought a CD-rom off amazon and practiced on that, i passed with a 61 out of 75 for the Hazard perception, the pass mark was 44
Same goes with the theory test, bought the cd off amazon again and just kept going through as many of the questions as possible, on the day of my theory i probably already did around 30 of the 35 questions that came up, i passed that with 33

Good luck

If you drive already the hazard perception test shouldn't pose any problems.

good luck

I have to disagree! I think if you drive, the standard theory bit is simple, especially if you buy the CD/Book, you will have seen all the questions by the time you do it, and it is all common sense. (I got 35/35)

With the hazard perception test, you are advised to click when you see the hazard, but not repetitively click, or you lose marks.

You are told that all sequences only have one hazard in the sequence - except one with two.

When I did it there were numerous times where you see children playing on pavement close to road, or man opening van door onto road etc etc. So being a sensible driver I clicked on the hazard. Ten seconds later and car reverses off drive! Obvious hazard, luckily I click on button in time. This must have happened on 10 occassions where I saw possible hazards, but that is not what they are looking for.

I passed, but was very close to the mark. I presume because of "multiple clicking". I know four other people that have done their theory test (and all passed), but said the same thing about hazard perception.

I'm sure you will be ok - and good luck - but don't take it as read that the perception piece is easy if you drive!

Sorry, only just saw your question. Glad someone else answered it! I borrowed a Hazard Perception test CD Rom from a mate. I can't remember the name, sorry.

All the Jap 600's are much the same (I'm sure some people will disagree!) So picking the one that you prefer the look of is probably best.

I ended up Buying my first bike a few days after passing my test. I was with a friend on the way to buy a pizza. Pizza shop hadn't opened so I bought a ZX6R instead!!!! Damn credit cards!

I have to agree with you.

There is a "window of opportunity" where you get scored depending on how early you click. If you drive a car, you may spot the hazard too early and click before the "window of opportunity" is open thus getting 0 points.

I found the best method for people who drive already is to click when they see the hazard. Click again a second later (in case you saw the hazard too early!) and then click one more time just before the driver comes to a halt.

Went out for the first time on a big bike today and I'm still grinning like a gibbon Not as scary as I thought it would be and the bike (a CB400) was much easier to ride than the little 125 thingy I took my CBT on. My instructor reckons after a lesson in the town where I'll be taking my test I should be ready for it, and maybe I'll take the test before the end of the month

Went out yesterday and bought some gear before the Moto GP (Shoei XR-1000, Dainese jacket and Alpinestar boots) and with any luck will be getting the CBR on friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
