7 seater / MPV for £3k

I'm after a car that's capable of carrying up to 7 people in comfort, only criteria is it's able to have 2 child seats as well as 4-5 adult passengers.

I'd imagine the car would only do 5-6k miles a year and it would be a car thats used for long journeys or when I need to transport that amount of people.

Any recommendations?

I was going to suggest a Toyota Previa but actually, if the third row is only going to be used for kids, then it looks like you'll get a better Zafira for the money. All the £3k Previas on Autotrader look pretty tired. Loads of Ford S-Maxes available for that budget too, I reckon I'd be looking there.

My fear with S-Max at that budget is that it will be tired and diesel too.

The O/P doesnt do big miles so DPFs will be problematic particularly on a car thats older already.

You can't beat sliding doors when it comes to using child seats - we went Mazda5 and never looked back.

Mazda 5 isn't a 7 seater though! You won't get a child seat or adult in the centre seat in the middle row, it's more a big armrest. We had a 2010 Mazda 5 Furano, fully loaded with electric sliding doors, climate, cruise etc and it was fine when we had 3 kids and the wife and I. When we had a 4th though it was no longer practical as the armrest seat is useless for anything tbh and once both rear most seats are up there's very little boot space.

3k will get you an S Max, you'll need to shop round though as there'll be loads tired for that money, still has a usable boot once the rear most seats are up as well.

Ford Galaxy will be within budget, vast as well.

TBH at 3k you're at the bottom end of anything, so do your research and properly check any vehicle before doing a deal.

We regularly travel with 3 adults and 3 children, 2 full on child seats in the middle row, one booster in the back.

Probably isn't all that comfortable for the adult sat in the middle!

Alhambra/Sharan/Galaxy will probably give the best boot space with all seats up.

We had an Estima Lucida (import Previa) - this was awesome when we were kids.
