Driving points added to a farm not an individual?

A lad on a local farm has been caught doing 90 on a motorway.

Not trying to get out of it, but he is send a lawyer to court.

He said his lawyer told him that as he owns a farm, the points can be added to "the farm"????????

Not as far as I know, but is it a thing?

If he admitted driving he will take be given the points. If the vehicle is company owned and the company secretary doesn't name a driver, the company is fined. No points can be given to a company.

They have already been named on the form and this letter was for the court date.

No, the farm can get the points. If they farm gets 12 points in 3 years, then it can't keep any animals or grow any crops for 6 months.

I just cannot imagine what his lawyer is thinking (if he even did say that, it could be the bloke just bullstting so that we are not surprised when he keeps on driving)

Its pretty clear to me. The driver of the speeding vehicle gets the points etc, no exceptions.

If the Registered Keeper doesn't provide the driver's details then he may become liable for points and a fine.
