Lease return - Warranty issues
Discussion
Need a bit of advice from fellow leasers if possible?
My Alfa Romeo 4C coupe is due for return on 6th of October. I took the deal through Leasys (part of the Fiat Chrysler Alfa group I beleive?).
Earlier this month, the dreaded creaking (known problem with the 4C) started coming from the front bushes. I booked it in to my local Alfa dealer for them to take a look, and they confirmed. They also noted that the paint around the filler cap was 'de-laminating' and could also be covered by warranty. Brilliant I thought. Unfortunately, due to the parts required and current bookings, they cant get the car in until after my return date. I called Leasys to explain the situation, and they said I would need to extend my lease agreement at my own cost and get the issues rectified before returning the car.
In my opinion, this is unfair. Firstly, neither issue with the car is my fault, they are manufacturing defects. Secondly, I have no want or need to keep the car (due to a new car arriving) past the contract term, ESPECIALLY at my own cost.
Leasys have given me the customer relations email to make a complaint, but thought I would seek some advice to see where I stand first! Anyone else had similar issues?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
