Priming diesel Jeep 2.7 with Merc engine
Discussion
Hi guys,
Struggling to get my Jeep started after rebuilding the high pressure fuel pump, not sure if I have messed it up!
A bit of background....
I have had the cam cover off and the top end cleaned due to 'black death' and a leaky cam cover gasket. Since then the car ran fine but was cutting out on high load with a P1130 code. This is incorrect fuel rail pressure. I did a leak off test with a kit I made and found 1 injector to be faulty with a very different leak off result. I replaced this and all injectors had the same leak off, within a whisker.

The car still cut out.
I replaced the fuel filter and the low pressure fuel pump. Car started and ran after this but still cut out. The next port of call was the high pressure pump. Rather than replace I stripped and re-built it......
Put this back on today and can't get the car started for love nor money. Tried priming with a bulb, then EZ start, which normally get the thing going and then drags fuel through. I have checked the fuel line in and there appears to be fuel going in. The hard line out is still dry though.
Am I right in thinking I have incorrectly rebuilt this or is there something I can try to get the old girl going?
Thanks in advance
Simon
