TVR Tuscan 4.0

Hello, I thought I'd start a post on my new car, a TVR Tuscan 4.0.

This is my second TVR, having had a Chimaera about 5 years ago. I've had a few different cars since then, but I've gone back to TVR because nothing else gives me that 'buzz'.
I narrowed my search down to the Cerbera (because I've always wanted one of these since seeing the Clarkson shoot-out video) and the Tuscan, because it looks like nothing else on the road! I looked at quite a few cars (and there are some really good ones for sale out there) but ended up with this Tuscan, which had been for sale at James Agger. It's an early car (2000 'X'-plate) with just 28k miles, a Powers engine rebuild, all the history and a huge folder of receipts, and a carbon can sports exhaust - which is probably what made me buy this car in the end!
The main reason I went for a Tuscan over the Cerbera was the option for roof-off driving, which I've always ended up missing when I've had a coupe!
Personally, I think this one looks fantastic! My Chimaera was in a very bright pearl yellow, and I did think about looking for a similarly-coloured Tuscan. But, I think the slightly more 'subtle' combination of Starmist Green with the doeskin hide is brilliant.

I've made one modification so far, which was to have a new head unit put in. This enables you to connect your phone and then use it as a satnav - important for the road trips I'm planning. I'm also planning on doing the bonnet conversion, which allows you to open the bonnet without having to undo the bolts holding it down (a two man job to then lift it off). Other than that I'm just planning on using and enjoying the car when the weather allows!

Very nice car, I gave this serious consideration but opted for another based on my personal wish list - a car from James is always going to be a pretty safe buy
Hi - don’t think he fixed the back, it’s not a great fit but didn’t bother me as I may look to do some interior trim over time. I think every Tuscan I looked at had the same issue with seat backs. Funnily I didn’t think this would be the car for me (as I’d had a green car recently) but as soon as I drove it 10yds it just felt right!

TVRs benefit from regular driving. Leave them sitting around too long and things start to go wrong in my experience. Seals dry out etc....Well, that was my excuse when I had one!
