My thoughts have been turning lately to a "winter" hack for commuting as I really have begun to despise public transport into London when I have to take it rather than the bike . A Suzuki GS500 is available locally with low milage, anybody have any experience of them, to be honest they look so basic that I doubt much can go wrong and refreshingly pre "electrics". I fear my Moto Guzzi will disintegrate even with liberal use of ACF50

There's not a lot to say really, it will be a perfect winter bike.

Just remember that it gets fking cold on a naked bike in the winter. The GS is absolutely ideal but depending on the length of your commute a screen of some kind would make a pot of sense.

They corrode quite easily, their fit and finish really isnt the best. They are quite reliable though, but you might be forever trying to keep it cvlean to keep the rust away.

How about a CB500?

Oh - and make sure that it's ULEZ compliant if you're going in to that part of London.
