Probably a blessing in disguise for him, never seen a rider looking so depressed.....

Be interesting to see how Kalio goes on it. KTM finally seemed to make some progress last weekend.

Why ?

He was under performing and didn't want to be there , they had loads of new parts incoming and didn't want him running off to another bike company with the details .

The only odd thing is how Zarco has completely lost his mojo, but I think he's a bit like that.

He never seemed that great in Moto2 until he suddenly started kicking arse from what I remember.

Going to be interesting to see if yamaha work behind the scenes to keep him in gp or in wsbk .

I've read he's looking for a MotoGP test ride next year, then a race ride in 2021 when various seats are up for grabs. Makes sense. Preferably a Yamaha as it suits his style. He'd go better on a Ducati than a KTM I imagine too.

Can't see him in WSBK personally but I don't know anything really.

I suspect the Gp paddock will leave him behind, he wasnt very pleasant aboutt he KTM openly and then broke his contract. The factories hate that st.

A good M2 ride is about the best he could hope for, but theres talk of WSBK......

Crazy situation that a few riders need to observe and learn from.....

Fair point T7. He's not the only hot Frenchy in the Paddock anymore either.

I’d like to see him given Rossi’s bike next year - based on last year I think he’d give MV a very close race; possibly quicker overall by the end of next season as he’s a great racer on a quick bike ( but useless on the currrent bike which shows up some weakness).

As the above post pointed out I cannot see that happening now as another compatriot could be the next works rider.

What better place for yamaha than having vinales , quattararo and zarco on yamaha's then worry about who replaces rossi when the time comes .

First Folger *** went awol, now Zarco's packing it in.
At one stage, they were going to be the next big things. Funny (peculiar) how it all pans out.

  • *** although I believe that he's due to compete in Moto 2 next year.

Don’t forget he’s French!
That’s hard enough to work in itself , quattararo seams the most un French person I’ve ever seen. And Zarco is typical
Think this is the biggest problem KTM had with him.

Just throwing it out there, I am probably wrong:

A lot of rookies seem to do well on a Yamaha (where development work has already been done by MV, VR and JL before), seems to be a smooth ride which is easier to come to terms with faster than ones from Honda or from Ducati.

KTM is new kid on the block, so much to do, so many new parts to test, Dani seems to be doing a good job testing, MK shows a lot of commitment as well, but JZ was probably too overwhelmed by the amount of testing work? I read somewhere he was not that fond of testing when he was at Yamaha either.

Maybe a seat at Suzuki (satellite team with factory support) would be the best fit for JZ, and for JLo for that matter, as they seem to have similar riding styles? On the other hand Suzuki does not want to deal with big egos and temperaments.

You see VR or AD in the paddock, they smile, wave, MM is 100% business, but JZ always looks somehow sad, he must have really hated being at KTM, despite that it is a factory MotoGP team.

Wasnt Folgers absence due to ill health though?

I can't see him on a works Yamaha. They have better options like FQ. And he'll be 31 in 2021 so he's not really a prospect anymore.

He'll not be judged well having effectively given up when it got tough. He had rough patches in M2 as well.

It is a lesson that teams with a vacant seat need to learn when looking at fast rookies on an M1 tbh. The bike is very friendly.

This. If Suzuki could pull this off, I think they'd be onto a constructors title. Only problem would be them embarrassing the factory team. Two solid riders who have both done well on Yams. What have they got to lose?

Zarco shunned Suzuki for Red Bull $$$$$ dont forget, cant see him ever on a Blue bike.
