Noticed one of the LEDs in my rear indicator (2007 V8V) looked like it was out. Then it came back on again.

Now it looks like it (and 1 or 2 others) are flickering when the light is on. Most noticeable when the hazards are on.

Whats the current state of play with these? Can anyone repair them? I know you can get the innards changed by Fisher to 'sequential' lights so they must be able to access the LEDs etc.

Otherwise I guess I'm in for a big bill for replacement? It's a clear light with grey surround. There were some on ebay at a very good price (new) but these seem to have all gone unsurprisingly. I need a driver's side (UK) lamp.

Only had the car 7 months and don't fancy a big bill for something like this but such is life I guess.......

Hi Leigh

According to McGurks the rears are sealed units and can’t be repaired....

Cheers I just found the thread you link to.

Looks like the sort of thing I'd enjoy having a go at! What's interesting in that thread is that the red and clear lights have identical innards. Might see of I can get a red lamp as they are cheaper than the clear ones and swap the lenses over.

I reckon first call is to remove the light, drill the holes for the Gortex patch fix to make them breathable, try and dry them out a bit and see what happens. There is a tiny amount of condensation in there.

Does the car live outside?
I was just wondering if there is any correlation between outside cars and condensation damage. Or whether it's just pot luck even when washing etc

When mine went, the red lamps were not cheaper than clear. From memory, red ones were ~£750 per lamp. Clear were ~£1100 for all 3, including the center lamp on the boot.

There’s a pair of clear lights on fleabay for under £500. The n/s appears to be faulty so you could....

- buy them and replace your o/s light
- repair both faulty ones at your leisure
- sell both repaired lights for £500+

First owner had it for 12 years and it was always garaged. He did use the car in all weather though so it will have seen a fair bit of rain I reckon.

I've had it 7 months and it's garaged here too.

There is some condensation apparent at the very outer edges of the lenses but not a great deal to be honest.

Should have said I meant second hand prices. The seem to be a bit cheaper for red as I guess more people want the more modern looking clear ones.

Yeah I've seen those. Always a risk buying something and trying to repair it. No idea if it will work.

I have seen another working light for £400 so £500 for a pair does seem a better deal with some chance of keeping a repaired spare I guess.

It's about £1250+vat isn't it?

I like the sequential indicators but the other bits are bit too bling for my personal taste.

I have a second-hand RHD drivers side clear rear lamp spare in London. If of interest, message me.

Hi, I have the Fisher light conversion, the start up sequence is good but the driver never sees it which is a shame, no condensation in mine in two years since done
