I live in California. I ordered the new Vantage AMR with the 7 speed manual. I'm a long time repeat Porsche 911 owner. I'm looking forward to a new experience and having driven the Vantage with the automatic I think the Vantage manual will be a great fit for me. Here's the question: I placed my order in May of 2019 with a planned delivery of Q4 2019. The dealer tells me we "should" be on track to make delivery as stated. I haven't been able to get any information about when my car might actually be built & knowing that it's 3-4 weeks for shipment the window feels sort of tight to me. Does anyone have experience with this process? And/ or is there a way to check on timelines?

This last summer I went on a tour of the factory & it seems pretty precisely run so I'd have to imagine they'd have a good sense of plan to build the first batch of manual transmission Vantages.

Any insight would be very helpful. Thank you.

I'd speak to your dealer and ask for an update on expected delivery date. I imagine they will be able to talk to the factory for an ETA.

Your dealer will have a build number, which should tell him what stage your car is at....

Congratulations - it will be a wonderful car . Your dealer will have a planned on line date (POD ) . From there I would allow at least a week to go through the factory to audit stage . Then it’s anyone's guess how long until it’s on the high seas . It will be worth the wait .

Thank you. This is all great information. My dealer has been encouraging but just a bit vague. I'm really looking forward to taking car on the twisty canyons around here & maybe a Christmas time road trip along coast with spouse. Fingers crossed!!!

your suggestion was spot on! My POD is 14 October. Great news. Goodbye to the 911. Hello to the Vantage.
