Hi

Need some help/advice if possible.

I already have insurance but need single day track insurance for a day we have planned at SPA.

Many companies want the annual policy that will include a single day but don’t really want to cancel the existing policy, that said at this moment in time it is looking like the only viable alternative.

Any ideas or recommendations for a single day policy that doesn’t cost the price of the car!!

Thanks in anticipation

Moris.

They've done me a policy for the Nurburgring on Friday for just over £200. 10% excess...

Don't forget that most 'trackday' insurance policies provide first-party cover only (that is, your car is covered for damage that you or anyone else might cause to it, subject to the excess) but third-party cover (ie: damage you may cause to someone else's car, or someone else in person, or even trackside furniture) is not covered.

So whatever you put in place is likely to be limited to a certain extent.

Morris contacted me today about a quote. Apparently they aren't insuring cars that are track focussed (gt3) worth over 100k. Bizzare.

I hope Moris can sort things out, they recently gave me two days insurance for my RS at Zandvoort for £620 with agreed value of £200,000. I would use them again.

They were very helpful and even reduced the cost when I asked.

I run all my cars with Manning UK insurance and they will cover all track days if ATDO approved, although an added premium for tracks abroad. Unfortunately Zandvoort wasn't ATDO hence going with Moris.

Good luck.

Thanks all for help.

Have asked Moris for a price, fingers crossed they come back.

Will look to have insurance cover the car for the odd track day on renewal so all this can be avoided.

That's a bit mad isn't it. I guess the standard of driving would be higher with an instructor but still. Maybe get this guy's co-pilot:

Some will - I'm with Mannings who have insured me for DN events (ATDO member) - £250 if car value sub £100k, £500 if more...

Their normal policy includes unlimited UK trackdays, European ones incur the charge (per day) providing the organiser is a member of ATDO...

I'm sure they'll clarify things if you call them, I normally deal with Jack.

I have one Porsche which i use for track days occasionally with Footman James..All my other cars are under my NFU fleet car policy and are brilliant but strictly exclude track cover..FJ include five track days in their cover including most European tracks with no surcharge..The good thing about FT's track cover is that there is no additional mandatory 10% excess which on a £250K RS can amount to a huge £25K in the worse case..Their excess if fixed at £2K even on track and this is on a £150K GT3..
Any additional track days above the standard five can be added at any time for an additional £100 up to a max of two extra..

What do they charge for the 5 track days?

Five trackdays are included in the policy..Two more are available for £100 per day..I tried to keep the GT3 with NFU but separate track day insurance i thought expensive especially considering the mandatory 10% of the car's value as excess..

Ill give them a call. Locktons include unlimited track days, but yes, 10% excess is high

My Locktons policy is for PCGB organised track days in the UK only. Anything else is run past the underwriters who usually refuse to accept (especially if there could be race cars testing).
