Parking Charge Notice

So I got one of these in the post today.
Now either, they have had a mishap in their parking app and so it looks like I didn’t pay at all, or they’re being a little mean on an honest mistake. The letter doesn’t actually say. It just says an entry time of 11 am (which is a full 15 minutes before I was able to park and a pay for a ticket via app) and a leaving time of 14.36. The ANPR camera is actually right at the top of the road that leads down to the car park. This is how they’re doing their timing. It’s not really clear that you have to get out of this bit in time rather than vacate your space in time.
Now we had left the space in time, however we then did stop half way out whilst the wife used the loo and bought a few snacks for the 6 hour trip home. I waited in the car.
So I’ve been done for £100 for an undisclosed amount of unpaid tariff time, which if any, in my view is about 20 minutes. So it’s a bit excessive I think and it wasn’t busy, plenty of spaces going.
I have appealed so we’ll see what comes. But what I wanted to check was that, once I appeal they do “stop the clock” as it were on the 14 day thing? So if the appeal fails (and I’m sure it will, because the default must be for them to reject, because money) then I can still pay the reduced rate? Even if the appeal time takes the full 28 days they say it might?

Get on to pepipoo on the Private parking thread and follow their instructions. You have a much better than even chance of keeping your haed earned cash in your pocket
DO NOT in any way shape or form contact the ticket issuer before you have had a word with pepipoo
ALSO when you contact pepipoo phrase everything as ' The driver saw this' The driver did that;' DO NOT indicate or suggest who was the driver was or give any indicate who the PPC is or where you parked until pepipoo ask the PPC read pepipoo and look for people who give the game away.
Please bear in mind that the Registered keeper, is not necessarily the owner or the driver of a vehicle .
You do not have to take this zadvice, but it is your £60/100 pounds in question

Just ignore the ones that say suck it up and pay it Isn't their money they are spending

Plenty of opportunities to get it sorted even if you have appealed to the parking company. On rejection they should supply you with a POPLA code (depending on which company it is) to allow for an independent appeal whereby the decision is only binding on the parking company and not you.
I honestly think the Mods shuld put a sticky on here on how Drivers should deal with these firms. There are too many instances, where due to insufficient knowledge of assistance, they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
If enough people actually knew what they have on their side to challenge these PPC's and crappy administration and taking dodgy pictures are but two of the faults they have. they MIGHT actually comply with the Act of Parliament they 'asked' to be set up and they would cease to clamp ( Most of the PPC are ex clampers,so you know who you are sealing with)
I m all for genuine parking companies and am ,like most people against those idiots who think they an park anywhere,anytime. It is Joe public like Otis and many others who come on here and have a case and possibly a chance to 'get one over' so to speak on these PPC .If they cannot abide by the rules, we have every right to put them to the sword.
The same goes for Councils who blatently ignore the correct procedure. It is only people like the ones on pepipoo and Steve and Pav on here who know what small print should be on the notices. Many cases have been turned over by the adjudicators due to 'procedural impropriety'
Even such small errors such as putting 'may' instead of 'will' in the letter as laid down by law will bring them down and a 'win' for Joe public!!
If Otis is bang to rights, tthen pepipoo will tell them, The cases are certianly worth reading as i have picked up a lot of bits i didn't know about
such as
DYL Yiu can stop and park in tha act of dropping or picking up passengers, you can even leave to the car to assist lesss infrm passengers, yet coucil operatives will still ticket drivers
and still on DYL you can still ge a ticket if you prk on a grass verge and not on the road,as the highway is from wall to wall, it is the carriageway that it from kerb to kerb

On site for 3hrs 35 min. Parking ticket for 3. However didn’t actually get a space and a ticket until 15 min after entering (which I think wipes out their grace period as it is, as I saw a thread where one guy entered waited 15 mins for a space, got fed up, then left, he got a fine). Hold my hands up that we were a little tardy leaving, though had vacated the space. It wasn’t busy when we left so not like we were depriving them.
Anyway, I really can’t be dealing with this right now. I’ll just pay it to make it go away. I’ll know for next time though not to appeal until I’ve used the various templates around the web. I note as well in their appeals drop down most of the options begin with “I have ....” or “I was....”. Immediately identifying yourself as the driver before you even started.
Won’t be gracing places like Fistral with my wallet again until stuff like this is binned. I’ve emailed the complex owners and the MP down there as I’m sure they don’t intend to be driving away their main source of income by employing shysters like this.
