The hatched, matched and despatched columns can provide some strange coincidences. I have spotted reference to people I know or knew on a number of occasions when I just happened to glance at the appropriate page purely by chance.

One time a couple of years after I left school I picked up a copy of either the Times or the Telegraph (don't recall which) and discovered that I guy I had known at school had come off second best in an argument with a propeller whilst doing pilot training at Luton.

It's that sort of totally random event that sticks in your memory. I don't remember most of the people I was at school with but that sort of strangely random connection has produced a memory I recall from time to time. Why I happened to glance at that page on that day I will never know.

Maybe there is more to it than we consciously understand ...
