Hi all,

Keep going through driveshafts due to snapped CV so gonna have a go at rebuilding the broken ones to keep as spares... question is what make to go for out of the below:

SKF
Metelli
LPR
Febest
Kamoka
Blueprint
Meyle

I've only heard of Blueprint and SKF... but wondering if anyone has first hand experience/ what is popular in the trade?
Thanks!

I'd go SKF from that list, is it a modified car? Might be worth buying uprated CVs.

How are you snapping them?

My experience of fitting these is that the difference between the cheapest and most expensive brands is their resistance to wear and making funny noises - not snapping them.

It maybe that you are doing something crazy with them, and it will make no difference whether they are expensive or cheap.

Are you breaking the CV or the shaft? If it's the shaft, exactly where is it failing? I had problems with fatigue failures at a circlip retaining groove which was more or less fixed by going to a design with a forged ridge instead.

What car, what conditions are they failing under & where are the failing?

Had a tweaked FWD car many moons ago that had a ridiculous appetite for CV joints, went through about a dozen, OEM & aftermarket & all failed in pretty short order. Eventually bit the bullet & bought a set full set of OE shafts & joints - problem solved & never returned.

Outwardly it suggested a problem with the original shafts or one of the joints that hadn't been replaced, but all appeared to be in order & within spec....
