I've got a K3 GSXR 600 which is mostly, but not exclusively for track days. The main thing I'm not happy with on it is the feel of the front brakes. In comparison to my 848 evo they just dont inspire any confidence.

The bike is in bits at the moment while I service the forks so I plan on stripping the calipers, cleaning and servicing them. Got braided hoses fitted already.

Would replacing the master cylinder with a brembo radial one be a logical thing to do or would stripping and rebuilding the standard one be sufficient?

Cheers

I have a 2011 GSXR 600 and swapped out the MC for a brembo version.
I was told that whilst operating fine, the GSXR lever would always feel a little 'soft'.
Its exclusively a track bike, so after having a few near misses due to fade I wanted to make sure I had as much brakes as I could get...

It does stop a lot a better now, but I went nuclear early in the process - I cant comment on whether you can get a lot of the way there with better pads, brake fluid change, pistons service etc..

That's how mine feels, theres plenty of stopping power but I dont like how far I can pull the lever, it's almost to the bar by the end of a session.

I've got decent pads, new fluid, braided hoses already, piston service is next on my list

Worth doing, but it sounds like you will end up upgrading the MC in the end anyway if you track it a fair amount..!

The 848 evo has probably the best front brakes I have ever had on any bike ive owned, I sold mine a few years ago but the memory of those front brakes is still vivid eek Probably not the best bike to compare brakes with.

Yup, the brakes on the Ducati are absolutely fantastic in both strength and feel. I'm not expecting to get the Suzuki that good but they definitely need some improvement.

The 848 may have had the four pad calipers (P4), which are a tiny bit more bitey on initial application.
