ASM are not far from me, in fact I went to a PHEA organised day there a year or so ago and indeed met Bob and his car which was in build. And fabulous smile

The quality of workmanship is first rate, and the cars look stunning.. I was (am) very tempted... smile

Isn't the hint here that this will not be a re-creation, but a lookalike based on the VH substructure? Quite a different prospect to the ASM project.

I think this has been doing the rounds for a while, indeed some (not me!) have already been contacted by dealers (who I’m sure will happily take your order if you have the necessary £700k)

Btw I think the only thing in common with the DBR1 is it’s a Speedster and has 4 wheels smile

What’s intriguing about it is that it’s supposed to have a V12. So which shell/platform will it be based on? Or a totally new one?

If they can take design cues from the DBR1 to create the DBS 59 and virtually sell out 24 cars in a month, why wouldn't they go for a more lookalike roadster version. Although I'm not sure about a V12 power plant in a car that I imagine would come in at true Superleggera level.

ASM do indeed produce a superb 'homage' to the DBR1, achieving outwardly a very high level of design accuracy. They do offer as an option to fit an Aston engine, which they did for my car MO55IE, an option which for me was crucial.
