Morning all,
Bit of background, in early Feb, when it was around 2 degrees or so I went to put the top down. It only opened a little bit then stopped!
After trying a few more times I gave up and managed to close it with a combination of the button and pushing the leading edge.
I had the car serviced a few weeks later by my mobile mechanic and he ran a diagnostic test which came up with "cowl panel unlocked switch short to ground or open circuit" which appears to be quite a common error message.
I didn't do anything about it for ages, but with the good weather about to go I thought I would try and look at it again and it would appear, having spent ages on Google and YouTube, that the problem would be a broken wire, probably in one of the bends on the drivers side, so I had decided to take it to a very good local garage next week. I went out to have another final look, pressed the button, and hey presto, the bloody thing worked perfectly!! We went for a drive around to enjoy it for about half an hour and it came back up and locked perfectly again!
Obviously It does not have a broken wire, but could anybody shed any light on to how it has mysteriously managed to work again without any human intervention?? Could the temperature have been a factor?
Many thanks in advance for any comment........
