I'm really stuck on what to do about my next car purchase. Will be building a garage early next year and it should be long enough to accommodate a couple of cars and I will have room in the drive for another.

I have a budget of circa 30k to 35k. I am struggling to find a car that ticks all the boxes.

I have a very varied car history including a Caterham, Impreza, 996 turbo, Elise, DC2 Type R and loads of others. I will probably only do around 4k to 5k a year with a mixture of weekend drives, an annual hoon in Scotland and some track day here and there.

I would probably say I am a bit more inclined to go for a car biased towards road feel and handling but I owned a 156 GTA and feel in love with the engine so maybe a V6 or V8 engined car this time?

I really fancy a Jaguar F Type (V6 or V8) but am a bit worried what ongoing reliability issues could be. Was also looking at the me shape MX5 as a used model seems good value to me and a trip to BBR could really give it the wow factor.

There's always the default choice of an Elise or Exige.

Dare I mention a TVR if I am scared of reliability??? I don't really want to be in a position whereby I have to spend say 6k plus to deal with a broken car. Servicing costs I don't mind but not repairing faults.

Alternatively I was looking at possibly buying two or maybe even 3 cars. Let's say a Honda S2000, an E46 M3 and maybe a hot hatch thrown in.

Any thoughts or advice will be appreciated.

At that price point I’d be looking at an Evora S.

Quite an appealing two car option could be an Elise and a Megane Trophy (275? Or similar) of some description with the various goodies included (Recaros, exhaust)
