Ignored and disliked by many when new they seem to have won over a lot of Ducati fans like myself over time. My nephew has a 749R and whilst the looks will always be controversial after the stunning 748, 916, 996, 998, 1098, 1198 beauties, i reckon that 749R will be big money in the future. Revvy beyond belief for a big V twin, genuinle fast and more comfortable than my 748 ever was.
Anyone like the 999 style now? (Or then even.)

Yes, I love the 999 styling and looks, especially in black

Cracking bikes, love my 999r. An awesome bike for the track and surprisingly quick. Getting difficult to obtain R parts these days.

Ha ha, another 749/999 thread.

Yeah, I like 'em. I've got a 999 (R). I'd love an 888. Ducati never did produce a 101010 but a 1199R would sit nicely in my collection.

Not a fan - ok looking from the front and then you get to the back of the seat and it looks like someone’s fitted the wrong exhaust to it.

I’m sure they ride nicely though -

I fancy a smaller Ducati again soon, i sold my 1299 Panigale after a short while as i just wasn't extending it often enough, the bloody thing did 120 mph in second gear fgs. A 999 might just do, a 749 definitely and even a 998 might float the boat sufficiently.

You'll need deep pockets for all of those, especially R versions ......

I am financially fully committed (aka bank balance crap) right now, what with the bikes and cars i already own so can't afford a 999R or even 749R. If i shift some stock then that gets put right. I really meant £8,000 or so for a 999S or a lot less for a base model 749 even. The issue i have is i'd like 50 bikes in a centrally heated warehouse, such is the madness with which i always want to buy a different bike, but that ain't happening sadly. I'm sure i'll tick the 999R box at some stage.

My S, 5k dry miles love it. These are controversial looking but time is being kind to them.

Just got this a couple of weeks ago. Ridden about a thousand miles on it since...Wow, love it.

Not easy to ride though, at least I find it tricky...but I admit I am out of practice! It’s really nice to be learning again.

Swapped bike for half an hour with a friend at the weekend... he owns a 2015ish Monster 821. Now that is easy to ride!

The Suzuki RE5A rotary was collected by a happy (£9,500) buyer yesterday and so today i'm picking up a white 899 2014 Pannigale. No it's not a 749/999 but a haggled down somewhat £7,000 was too good to miss. 999R later hopefully!
The 148 bhp 899 Pan in many ways is the perfect Ducati, easier to deal with than the 1199/1299, sounds ace with it's Termignoni system and certainly still fast enough. Great bike.

It's a shame they didn't make something a bit slower like the 748 was in this era - 100hp on a light sports bike would be great.

I was looking at these 3 years ago as well! Bought a 650 BSA project in the end.

Nice choice. I hope you have a great time with it.
