Took my GT3 to The Warren Classic and Supercar show today and paid for the VIP parking spot which means you’re on a slightly posher piece of grass!

The car was on an angle right to left and when I came to leave upon starting it up I was met by a rather large cloud of blueish smoke which was met with some very strange looks by both onlookers and myself!

Is this normal? I’ve read somewhere before that they tend to occasionally do this. Is it something to do with being parked on a slope and the dry sump?

Not sure about blue smoke but a GT3 trait is at times a cloud of white smoke on start up which is normal

Blue smoke doesn't sound healthy, i'd be getting that checked over.

I get this on occasion on my 991RS and also on my 997RS - cloud of bluish smoke which clears after a few seconds. Cars are only dealer serviced. Had it on another one also. Does not seem to be anything to worry about.

They can and do tend do this, oil is so thin now,you get some oil seeping, and gravity with the high oil tank, nothing to worry about as long as it clears and no undue noises!

All ok this morning. Zero smoke.

Oil pressure and engine temperature perfect.

Sigh of relief.

I think it’s something to with being parked on a slope...my 997 GTS did this once when parked on a “sideways” slope.

My thoughts too. Horizontally opposed engine if one side is higher than the other (due to the slope) I’m guessing some oil must pool and then get burnt off once the engine restarts

Both 997.1 and 991.1 did this in my tenure; again when parked on a slope.
