Best driving roads in scotland

Planning on doing a scotland road trip in an mx5 next may, what are the best driving roads? Im talking about fun twisty roads good for a slow mx5 
The views are obviously nice to have. But its a secondary priority, going for the thrill not for the tourist spots, so single lane tracks are probably not in my interest. The NC500 is obviously very popular, but is it actually up to much? Or are there gems in other parts of scotland? Where there's probably less coach-loads of americans.

Absolutely plenty of good driving roads.
Central-ish Scotland: A821 Aberfoyle to Callander Duke's Pass. A827 Killin to Aberfeldy then B846 to Tummel Bridge followed by B847 to Struan then the old road to Pitlochry.
More North-East: Pitlochry A924 to Bridge of Cally then A93 to Deeside. Plenty of good roads there (the Lecht, Br of Brown etc).
West Coast: B863 Kinlochleven loop. Or across the Corran Ferry and round from Ardgour to Acharacle to Glenuig then back to Fort William in a big loop. A828 Connel to Ballachulish also quite good.

I just did a part of the Heart 200 route this afternoon. A84 Callendar to Lix Toll garage junction then A827 east through Killin along the side of Loch Tay to Aberfeldy. Followed a '69 plate Polo GTi who was also making progress without taking the pee too much. The B846 to Tummel Bridge was closing for some rebuilding as I got on it yesterday morning and with warnings of roadworkers on site I kept it slow, but it was a pleasure to drive still. It'll be open again in 2 weeks time. The A827 to Aberfeldy from the junction with the A9 was good fun yesterday tooCentral-ish Scotland: A821 Aberfoyle to Callander Duke's Pass. Lay your nice new maps out on the floor & look for twisty roads through hills and mountains. Go and drive those roads.

You can look for the twistys on a tablet pretty easily, with terrain to find the valleys. Lay your nice new maps out on the floor & look for twisty roads through hills and mountains. Go and drive those roads.
