Obviously Neil Chambers has to be up there, but we live in a world of people who too many people say are celebrities but seemingly are never actually famous for it.

So who is perhaps the most famous person, in your opinion.

I'd probably say HM The Queen?

Are "famous" and "known" two different things in this context OP? Also, is this alive, dead or doesn't matter?

Obama?

He's known and revered all over Africa unlike a lot of "stars" from the west.

And recognised all over the world in places most Western politicians are not recognised.

He's known to people who have no interest in politics, either because they dislike his skin colour or they recognise the boundaries he's broken.

He's way out in front IMO.

This is who my money would be on. I'd wager most people in the developed world will know Trump, Queen and Ronaldo, but the power of football in developing countries is so strong almost everyone knows Ronaldo, but might struggle to identify Trump or anyone else relative to the lack of social media/news outlets.

I doubt any of them have a Scooby who British or American politicians are, or people from history, or founders of dot.com multinationals.

And thats in the 4th largest population country in the world .....

The Pope?

Though one might argue that it's more the 'position' that's famous rather than the man. If the pope walked into a pub in civvies, I doubt many would know who he was.

Famous. If you showed someone a picture of them, they'd have to be able to say "That is (name)" or a close enough description of their role in the world - ie The Queen isn't her name of course, but for world leaders I'll take the title if they can't give the name.

Must be alive.

.....is almost certainly not the place to start - I think you need to be looking for those that are known in China, India and Africa not the US and the UK.

I reckon a lot of them would identify Trump and Obama pretty easily. Its just people don't tend to buy replica POTUS kits the same way they buy Juventus kits wink

Think of someone who might be known in China, Indonesia & India & you'll be close. The rest don't matter in comparison.

Nah, he came back down. Besides which, although the name is famous I think many people would fail to recognise him from a picture, and he's sadly departed so ineligible.
