Past papers, sit them in exam conditions and find someone to mark them properly for you with notes for where you fall short.
I found it’s a lot to do with whether you’re interested in the subject or you’re being forced to do it. I was made by my employer to resit my A levels - could not have been less interested. Did no study, hoped questions I could answer would show up on the exam paper, they didn’t and I walked out after 10 minutes.
Had to sit NEBOSH cert in my 40’s after a 2 week residential course. Needed it for my job. Absolutely hated it, still do but I literally passed it by a single grade. A colleague did fail it and had all sorts of grief over it until he too passed by the skin of his teeth. There was no real desire to study and that’s where it falls down.
Conversely an ex neighbour had left school with virtually no qualifications. He took up a degree course probably in his forties for no other reason than he liked the subject. Passed no problem and became a serial degree taker. Think he had 3/4 before emigrating to Spain.
