Put the diode in, didn't make any difference. But took the fuse "out" and everything works except the flash. The blue light in the dash is gone and dip and main work. Why?

Which fuse did you take out?

It sounds like you may have a short in the stalk from the flash circuit into the ignition circuit.

the top right hand one - Have replaced it with a diode now as in the Tasmin owners handbook it calls for a diode. Took the stalk assy off and stripped it to pieces, tested everything, even substituted it for another one, still the same.
Everthing works now, just except for the flash mode-the pull towards you mode. The driving lights in the front spoiler are totaly shot, so have ordered a new pair of those, was just wondering if that has got anything to do with it. Will let you know........

Just to make it clear, me old 350 never flashed the spots, only popped up the headlamps on main beam. Front spots were off a different dash switch.

my fog lamps work off a seperate switch too but the flash on main beam doesn't raise the pods just flashes the lights so effectively only works when the lights are already on dipped beam if that makes sense, S1 280 the same except no fogs anyway.
