Hi all,

I am currently in the market looking for a second car . I have held on to my first car for a while now (poor little picanto) and I have decided to move on . My budget is around 5-7k and I’m looking for a fun and fast car . I have quite a bit of driving experience as my dads a fellow piston head ( recently helped modifying his c36s) I’m just looking for a fast car that is fun and potentially a good base to do a few modifications.

I have looked at the normal cars for this kind of budget and I can’t decide constantly changing my mind . Doesn’t have to be a hatchback just looking for suggestions

Civic Type R (EP3 preferably)
Ropey DC2 Integra
MX5
MR2 turbo
Swift sport
350z
Mitsubishi Colt CZT
Corolla T-sport
Levin BZ-R if you can find one
Glanza V
UK spec Impreza (probably the best bang for buck of the whole list along with the 350z or MR2 turbo)

Possibilities are endless.. you may need to narrow things down a little! The list above is just what I would pick given the budget and fast/fun criteria, some are quicker than others, but all a decent steer.

Yeah realised I had been rather vague my bad - I’m looking for a 4/5 seater (not ready for a two seater yet ) something fast as mentioned but don’t mind shaving off some 0-60 time for nimbleness as I like a car that attacks a corner . Around a 2 ltr but that can stretch to a 2. Whatever but I’d prefer to keep it under 3.0ltr
As mentioned as well something will potential if modified . If you’d like me to be more specific I can be

that would deffo have been helpful in the first post!

EP3 Civic type R... £6k will buy an excellent condition mint premier edition or JDM spec, and they are a great base for further mods (pretty damn good out of the box as they are).

If its a second just for fun car then why do you need 5 seats?

There are a good few 2 seat options where the roof will come off.

When I read the thread title I thought that, but I think the OP means the 2nd car he's ever owned.

I'd have a look at Celica GT4, 4 seats rare, quick. But then I do prefer coupe's to hatches.
