Post euro trip, unsurprisingly my rear tyres are ripe for replacement, first I've put on it. The tyre sites seem to suggest 295/30/18 or 265/35/18, however it's currently running 295/35/18. It's certainly not short of rear grip, so I'd be happy to go a little smaller (and of course there's a price benefit there too!), but wondered what you folks had used and any opinions especially from those who have downsized - I can't help feel running the same size as a Turbo is overkill on a 320bhp car.

265's are fitted to the standard Carrera's which I think have 10" wheels. C4S and turbo have 11", so a 265 could be stretched on them.

Gotcha; seems like a common glitch on the tyre sites then. I'll ignore and maintain width

Try https://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/c...

for wheel and tyre sizes - not necessarily for the make of tyre though

I’ve the same rims as a GT3 on my C4 and they’re 285/30/18s on the rear.

^ this depends on the wheels on the car. I’ve a friend with GT3 type OEM wheels on a 996 although they’re obviously 10j width as he’s only running 265 width tyres whereas I have 10.5j width tyres & 285s which I understand are the original GT3 spec rears.
