Shinola. Thoughts?

It's a shoe polish brand.
Its so-called heritage is marketing bulls
t.
The cost of each watch (including the Ronda quartz movement) is reckoned to be around $25 - yet they retail from $500-$1500 in the US.
They claimed to be 'built in Detroit', which was BS, and they got in real trouble for claiming that.
Anyone who knows anything about watches will recognize it as an utter s
tter. Those who don't, won't care.
If you want a beater to go with your (slightly lurid) collection of two-tone Rolexes, I would suggest a Citizen Eco-Drive, an Orient Mako, a Bulova Lunat Pilot for the looks and the heritage, or maybe a Seiko. I like their Prospex model but any of their quartz divers would do the job.
Happy hunting.

Thanks for the suggestions, FYI I wear the blue gold sub on a nato strap to rid it of its lurid nature as you say Its so-called heritage is marketing bulls

I purchased a Shinola at their discount outlet in Florida. I think it was maybe £100.00. I don’t have a huge collection of watches with a RW W1 ( had for 22 yrs), Tissot (£500), Tag Grand Carrera(lots) and a GShock 5081 for work. It is almost 3 yrs old now and has performed perfectly well. It is a nice looking thing. I do however feel it was value for money from the outlet.

$100 seems to make sense VAGLover said:

$100 seems to make sense At some of their full RRP points they are marketing hype.

Strictly speaking that is untrue. They are a marketing brand who took their name from the shoe polish brand. Not all of their stuff is tat. Some stuff is apparently quite good, such as their turntables https://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/vinyl/turntabl...Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
