Bobby Gillespie lives round the corner from me.
He was sorting out his front garden wearing an old vest last week and just looked so unlike a rock star. I love Primal Scream.

This has got off to a good start, you being the first poster to reply and having Bobby Gillespie living on your doorstep, well not literally on your doorstep although you may find him there one morning, depending upon what he's been up to

I too love them, been over to Youtube watching Primal Scream - Live iTunes Festival 2013 (HD) - full concert "what an amazing performance"

Don't remember if it was The Jesus and Mary Chain that led me to Primal Scream or the other way round

Got tickets to see them in Leeds in December. Really looking forward to it but I’m wondering how they’ll be; I saw them at Glastonbury 2005 which was appalling, but then again supporting the Stone Roses at Heaton Park which was absolutely loads better. Hopefully they’ll be in good form. Anyone seen them recently that can confirm?

I hope they put on a great performance for you and all other fans, wish I could be there, It's too early for opinions about their 2019 tour, see dates below

Yes big time. Saw them a couple of times at Glastonbury.

No idea they were touring.

Great band and some great songs but like the poster above I also saw them at Glastonbury 2005 and Bobby was such a prick that it left a sour taste.

Albums are great, never seen them live. Simon mayo led me to them, wonder years on his radio 1 show in 1999. I was a latecomer. Bobby can come across a bit of a nobber hey, rockstar etc

I may be getting confused with Spiritualized.
Went to Glastonbury 3 years in a row in the early 90s and a very Screamadelica era Primals were supporting the ORB. I think they played in 1992.

I saw them in December 1987, supporting New Order. Quite a different sound back then to the one they developed from Screamadelica onwards.

I saw them at the first T In The Park in 1994, when the Give Out etc album was their main promo focus. Really good memories of that performance. Managed to get down to the front for it then blag a setlist afterwards. I like to think it was Bobby's but might have been one of the guitarists. Will post a pic here if it turns up.

Worked with someone who remembers working with Bobby at a printer's in East Kilbride back in the day. Said he was a bit of a space cadet even back then.

Got tickets for Glasgow Barrowlands in Dec, should be a good one

In general I prefer their 90's output (Screamadelica & Give Out & Vanishing Point), but they put on a great show regardless. Also highly recommend the Memphis Sessions album which is what they always wanted Give Out to be

I'll be honest, I've never been a fan. That said, Screamadelica is one of the best albums I own. It's totally different to their other stuff though. I'm into Indie music and chill out electronica so the experimental chill/indie/psychedelic stuff really spoke to me.

I saw them support the Stone Roses at Heaton Park when the Roses reformed briefly. They're a good band and can certainly perform though.

1987 so long ago

Screamadelica was my introduction to the band, not heard much/any (not sure) of their earlier work, must get listening to more

Small world working with someone who....Not heard that saying "space cadet" Sounds funny

Not in the UK anymore, would definitely be going to a concert if living over there, Glasgow may have been my choice having had great times with Its natives in my past as well as it being home for some of the band (don't know where all the band are from, excuse my ignorance

Started watching something on Youtube the other day about Memphis Recordings, must get back to it

Stone Roses supported the Manic Street Preachers at a concert I went to, strange mix of bands but enjoyed it

Saw them last year as they passed through Sydney - good fun, though the audience average was around 48...

Screamadelica, XTRMNTR and Give Out all still get regular airplay here.
