Been watching this guy from Holland restore a Russian T54 tank. Buys it from the UK and has literally stripped it down to the last nut and bolt. Him and his mate are probably half way through. Put your subtitles on to translate but to be fair ive just watched it with Hurdy Gerdy playing sometimes.

I've been following them from the start too.

they have a 2nd channel with more on it - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ0BEW0Jsc8cK0STZ... it's in Dutch as well but it wasn't translated but with help from the community they are being translated now.

I may even have driven (or perhaps towed) that one. I was attached to 3RRF Battle Group and we were responsible to dragging abandoned Iraqi vehicles back over the border into Saudi Arabia at the end of hostilities. I thought it might have been the one from Gibraltar Barracks at first, but that one had a broken torsion bar so one of the road wheels was lifted.

Loads of units had these gate guard pieces, but over the years they've been disposed of by either selling them off or donating them to museums. "My" ZSU 23/4 is at Middle Wallop outside the Museum Of Army Flying. The T55 that was at Carver Barracks in Essex went to Duxford and now sits under a tarp behind the Land Warfare Hall. Paperwork to strike it off account was more drawn out and complicated than I'd imagined it ever could be...
