......a bit, well a bit nothing to be fair.If your spending over £30k for a motor you want to feel something I reckon.

I am hoping the 2 series coming up next year will do it for me looking at the spy shots it probably will ,do not really need the 3 series size I currently have. Want something a bit more chuckable

Doesn’t surprise me.

Apart from the seats, I can’t really find much to get excited about. The grille is nasty and obviously too big, it looks too tall (like a squashed X2), the looks are very, very generic and too similar to the A35, Focus et al. Adding in the four pot and AWD and it just blends in with the competition but maybe that is what the market wants? Fast, point and shoot hatches that grip no matter what.

The old car was a bit different / unique. It was a flawed car, but it had something that made it cool. The facelift cars weren’t too bad looking, but I would say that because I bought one.

Looks way too much like a Focus in certain colours. Not sure it’s for me this one...

It will sell like crazy and be BMW's new bread and butter. Like it or loathe it (I am indifferent) it will crucify the old one in sales terms and mop up a lot of A Class sales. If they can do decent PCP figures it will kick the Focus etc into the long grass as well.

I suspect BMW are banking on this being a big enough seller so they can drop some of the niche stuff.

Re PCP I see that because when you compare the 3 series PCPs when they get the discounts and contributions out they are so much cheaper per month than the equivalent Jags Mercs and Audis

True.

The old one seemed to sell well enough despite being less spacious than the competition.

Should the PCP deals be as good as those of the F20/1 it should sell well and as mentioned above, steal sales from elsewhere.

Looking at the photos, it looks too similar to a 2 Series Tourer for my liking.

But maybe it's better in the flesh.

Still I wouldn't want one - one of the main reasons I bought my E87 was because it was RWD, which this isn't. frown

And maybe the 2nd turbo helped convince me (it was a 123d). laugh

I've got a 140i and it spanks the new 135i apart from braking performance... Great motor and lovely engine..... Cannot see the new car being spoken about like that...
