So after years of reading other people’s car related waffle I thought it was time to write a bit of my own.
Over the last 7 years I’ve been adding to my toy collection. And to my wife’s dismay can’t bring myself to part with any of it. Various cars have had half hearted ‘FOR SALE’ signs on them when my head has out ruled my heart. However have never had to wave goodbye to any of them.
So here goes. 7yrs ago I was looking to buy a BMW E30. Had always liked the shape of these and still think they are one of the best bmw’s on the road today.
While spending most my spare time trawling through eBay pages I came across a newly added advert for a E30 convertible. After making contact with the seller it was a 3hr trek to Norfolk. The journey giving me time to convince myself to walk away if it wasn’t the car for me (something I’m not great at).
Well while in the seller lovely home reading through the piles of history and hundreds of invoices the seller got it out of the garage. After a cup of tea and a chat it was time. I walked across the yard to be greeted by a stunning Laguna green beauty.
A test drive later and I was in love. Not only was it in lovely condition but the seller had done a fantastic job of carrying out some modifications. This was to be the second car of the collection ( more on that later). Photos to follow.

The guy I bought it from owns and runs Green farm classics and moderns. He is very knowledgeable and has a really passion for modern classics. Some of the work carried out (he informs me, a bit over my head all this technical stuff)

635i Mia unit mated to std 325 air box
635i Ecu and re mapped
Ported exhaust manifold
Rx7 turbo callipers
G60 golf discs
I had the car remapped by Wayne Scofield who is a genius. On the rolling road the car made 215bhp which for a n/a car I was well happy.
I now have a car that looks great,I love 80s 90s cars, and it handles, goes and stops like a modern car. It’s great fun, especially
Surprising some of this modern stuff on the road.

The first car in the collection was a mk2 golf fitted with a 2.9 vr6. In Capri green it was a lovely looking car. I no longer have this car.

Cabrios do nothing for me bur that E30 is sublime. Looks immaculate and I love the fact it’s been modified (dirty word for a car like this) to be such a weapon. Looking forward to the other cars and their details, too.
