What are peoples recommendations for head sets? Want to be able to listen to music and chat to my passenger on long runs. Also want to be able to chat to another car that is not a Seven, so he won't be wearing a head set! My old Peltor setup has wires everywhere so is Bluetooth the way to go? Ta.

Is that better in terms of noise cancelling and wind buffeting noise than the Bose or sennheiser?
I understand these two do not allow you to talk to other cars

You really need to distinguish between equipment that is designed to listen to music, nav etc as a one-way link, and true communication devices. The Sennheiser and Bose stuff is superb but it's designed for listening, the Sena stuff is proper comms equipment, unfortunately some kit performs better than others in some areas ... but there isn't a one-fix-fit-all solution.

The Sena SPH-10 is the same type of device that bikers use for bluetooth helmet comms but in a headset format that suits the Caterham, this makes driver to passenger comms very straightforward and and also car to car in the same way that bikers communicate. The range of the bluetooth is pretty decent as well.

I use a Garmin Zumo sat nav in the Caterham so with the nav, phone and Sena headsets linked together it's completely practical to listen to nav instructions, music, make clear phone calls and chat to the passenger or another car. It's necessary to switch over to the comms function from music/nav instructions but this can be done easily from any headset so not really an issue. The only downside, and it is something I'd like to address, is that the volume output is not particularly high and can be a struggle at decent speeds or revs in my SLR. I wear earplugs even with the Sena SPH-10 and I really could do with more volume.

Ok, thanks for that.

I currently have an old Autocom setup with wires everywhere!

I really want over-ear headphones to cut out as much noise as possible on a long run. I just did the Isle of Wight and back, including the NC500, and did 1600m in 5 days with this system. But I also found Flare ear-plugs necessary as well as I'm doing about 5k rpm on the motorway cruising.

I will also need to chat to another car that isn't a Caterham so he won't have a head set on!!

Thanks again.

I also have autocom. I think its great if but do wonder if its expensive for what seems like old technology now. With the right accessories you can do all of your requirements. My setup has Bluetooth to my phone, connection to TOM TOM, connection to walkie talkie with push to talk, headsets and in helmet connection too. Only problem was the price in achieving all that!
