£8k fast and practical

Currently have a Cupra, want something for around £8k that has 5 doors and I would like dsg.

Currently used to 300 bhp so want something as nippy.

I don't want something too old maybe 6-7 years old max, can it be done?

Any recommendations would be appreciated

8K should just about get you in an RS Megane 250. Make sure you get one with the cup chassis & LSD!

What I would buy too but OP wants 5 doors and DSG.

Personally I find the Megane very practical. Doors are ginormous so getting my 3yr old in and out of her car seat in the back is easy. Only caveat being there needs to be space to open the door (careful where you park). Boot is bigger than most 5 doors too.
