Basically, Are they any good. Keep seeing them in Motorsport magazine, not sure if I want to pension off my trusty Tag for one.

Do they have sapphire crystal glass?

I keep looking at the Tridents. Why are they not any good?

Posted on here recently where a chap was looking at getting a C65 Trident.

I own a 38mm Mk1 C60 Trident Pro 600 and absolutely love it. The quality of the watch for the price is exceptional. IMO they are better than Tag and it's not a million miles away from my Omega Seamaster.

In fact, mine's on my wrist now!

I have 3 Christopher Ward watches. They are very good quality especially considering the price. Yes they all have proper mineral glass with anti reflective coatings.
I own several premium brand watches and many other watches, and I can honestly say my CW C60 Trident is close to my Omega Seamaster in terms of feel and build quality.
In my opinion they are nicer than TAG and of comparable quality.

Every one I have seen in the flesh has disappointed.

Not impressed with the feel and build, just a cheapness about them.

Sapphire not mineral. But I'm sure you meant sapphire.

I have a V8 vintage flyer (with the old logo). It's very nice, feels good, well built but I haven't really gelled with it for some reason.

I've have had my Trident 600 for four years now.

Before that, I did a bit of buying and selling watches, and had, I'd estimate,15 to 20 watches over the previous couple of decades, mostly Rolex, but also Omega, TAG and Breitling. Oh yep, one Girard Perregauxas well.

I have found the Ward to be at least as good as any of those previously mentioned watches I owned. Actually it is ‘wearing’ much better than the Submariners I had, which tended to easily get chipped and scratched bezel inserts, although presumably this has been solved now as they are ceramic on the current models.

Style is very much personal taste, and many people consider them the Ward brand over derivative, and a lot of folks don’t like the current logo. Quality-wise though, I think they are extremely impressive.

Perhaps it would help if you could be a bit more specific.

When you you say they feel cheap - what are you comparing them with?

Can you name a similar priced watch that is better built and explain why?

Disclaimer - I've had several CWs and have never been disappointed with the quality. I have had a couple that I moved on because the design/style didn't have staying power with me.

Even though their prices have moved upwards, I still think that they provide good value when compared across the market with similar specification and finish quality watches.

Any suggestions on where to look for a second hand one? Main tz-UK forum is only open for long term posters. I keep looking on ebay but not much luck.

I think there is a specific Christopher Ward forum - maybe they have a FS section.

Do they offer that on all watches?
