Can anyone suggest some good easy to use software to use for making an presentation with audio, video, pictures, animations etc.

I am trying to get something together for my Dad's birthday and need something which will transition through various of the above without you needing to click the mouse for each slide etc.

Haven't started yet so it may be that Powerpoint is good enough. Any thoughts?

How do I do the animations, e.g. If a wanted a little map of the world with a ship going across it and drawing a red line to show where my Dad had been etc?

ah...now there you've got me, I assumed you just wanted to add animations not create them.

I used to have PaintShop Pro, and that had a utility to create animated giffs. Sure there must be some freeware you could download to create the animations, try www.download.com

Can be done, if perhaps a little tedious to achieve.

See here:

Obviously with a better set of images...

Cheers all, will have a look. I've got the most recent Powerpoint lying around somewhere.
