Hi all,

Kids are getting to good ages for a 911 again (2nd car).

Any recommendations for a car seat in the back of a 997.2 or 991.1? Child age is nearly 5 and he can get in the back himself and click in the belt.

Child in the front is nearly 3 (won’t bother trying 2 kids in the back as i’m 6,2).

I understand the 997.2 has the option of fitting isofix and an airbag deactivation switch?

Thanks

pete

The Britax Romer Kid II is cheap, well made, and fits well as a 15kg+ booster seat. Britax also make the Porsche-branded seats at three times the price.

The best feature is that the small "arms" that guide the lap belt are tiny, so they don't get in the way of the buckle position in the back of a 911, unlike other seats we own such as the Recaro Monza. It also has a nice narrow base. You can get it in an Isofix version (the Kidfix II) if you have a 991, but I used the non-Isofix version in a 996 (same size as a 997) without a problem.

Alternatively, the dirt cheap Halfords Essential booster seat fits well, but it feels like it's made the same way as a plastic milk bottle! It passes all the safety tests, but my kids prefer the comfort of the Britax.

Thanks Pete that’s really helpful and yes it doesn’t have to be isofix in the back.

The thing I like about group 1 and 2 seats is that the seat belt goes through the seat to hold it in place + you then have race car style harness belts built into the seat.

Group 3 seats you have the seat belt holding the child and seat in place i.e. the seat can move around when not belted in which I’m not sure about
