Hi all, interested in buying a used F type. We want the switchable exhaust. Does this mean we need the 380 horse power one or was the switch an option on the 335 horse power model? Can anyone help? Thanks smile

It was certainly an option on my wife’s MY17 V6 (335hp) Coupe.
First thing pressed on entering the car.

It’s an option on all versions I believe....search autotrader for f types with keyword ‘switchable’ and all v6 and v8 variants appear....visually the switchable exhaust is distinguished by the four buttons behind the gear knob as opposed to only three.....one of then is 5he LOUD button......

It’s a bit of a mess as I recall, cars up to a certain year had it as an option, some specs had it standard, then they shuffled it around again at some point...
I had a 340 V6 which didn’t have an exhaust button, but it was valved opening at a certain RPM. Like most cars with exhaust valves you can pull a particular fuse and it stays open all the time, with no warning lights or anything. Did it straight away, never put it back in. Not obnoxiously loud on idle or anything.
