Fiesta or Polo? Car for the mrs
Discussion
Hi everyone the mrs is in need of a new car. She does about 25 miles a day mainly on the motorway for work and then what ever local knocking about she does. Going shopping etc..
So not massive miles, I want to stay away from diesel. She really doesn’t care much about cars. Just wants something cheap to run and “cute”
Originally was thinking along the lines of an aygo but they are quite small and I think something a little bit bigger would be better for her on the motorway.
Budget ideally is £3k is (don’t want to spend to much as she will wreck it) but could go up to £4.5k
Has anyone got any experiences of polos/ fiestas in that budget? I don’t know anything about them really yet but guessing the polo is better built but the fiesta more fun to drive?
She likes the idea of the heated screen on the Ford... no other opinions.
Anything else we should consider?
Thanks

Having just done this for a bit more money my limited opinion is you'll get more Fiesta for your money.
2015 1 litre bought. I'm liking that little 3 cylinder engine and the way it handles.
I don't think the Polo is a better car than the price premium the badge carries - and I'm a VW man myself.

Out of the two I'd choose the Fiesta it's the better car out of the two but there are some good alternatives:
1.4/1.6 Fiesta Titanium

Fiesta every time. If set on a VW, consider a SEAT Ibiza. Essentially the same car albeit slightly worse interior I think.

The Skoda Fabia is great value if she can live with the slightly dowdy styling, but if not then the Fiesta is difficult to fault. The VW Up! and its Skoda and SEAT brothers are from the class below but are very impressive in terms of quality, space and driving dynamics for a small car.
