Google Maps time line

Is this held on the phone, sim card or SD card

Reason i ask is that i have records going back to June 2018, and this was on a previous phone possibly 2 before i got the present one.in Dec 2018
I would like to know if any info from July 2017 can be retrieved. It would be nice to see exactly where i drove on holiday

I'd imagine the data is held on Google's servers.

On their servers. Maps.google.com go to menu, timeline.

Mine goes back to 2014.

It's stored on their infrastructure - go on the timeline website, stick in the date and see if they've got it logged: https://www.google.com/maps/timeline

Had a look and nothing on there for the dates i needed.

Is it possible you had a different Google/Gmail account back then?

If you use photos go back to that date and see if there's any photos taken on that date. If there are there may be geo-tagging on the photos.

No nothing changed regarding accounts at all



Have found some pics on the sd card that has moved from phone to phone, but there doesn't seem to be any info though

I found it by accident 2 or 3 years ago. I was looking on Google maps and it showed a cafe we went into. When I zoomed in it said "you visited here on the whatever between the hours of x and y".

I nearly fell off my pew ! I never knew about it until then. I think it's fantastic - I love looking up where I've been in the past, especially say on holiday.
