Cop pulls over Tesla in driverless mode

I don't know how legit this is, but has this happened in the UK yet? Tesla in Summons mode gets pulled over by a cop.

That clip looks to be completely set up to me, as that appears to be a shopping parking lot, and I'm pretty sure that the laws on Stop signs are not enforceable in car parks, even in America

(A cop just happens to be cruising around an empty parking lot at the exact time a driver-less Tesla that's being filmed runs a stop sign? )

Pretty sure if a driver-less Tesla got stopped in the UK, we would have heard about it already.


However, were it to happen on the public road in the UK, the owner of the Tesla would be guilty of an offence under section 41D of the Road Traffic Act 1988, which states:

[41D Breach of requirements as to control of vehicle, mobile telephones etc.

A person who contravenes or fails to comply with a construction and use requirement—

(a) as to not driving a motor vehicle in a position which does not give proper control or a full view of the road and traffic ahead, or not causing or permitting the driving of a motor vehicle by another person in such a position.....is guilty of an offence.]

Of course it was staged, however one thing I will say about the US is there are coppers everywhere.

On our last holiday in Florida we managed to trigger the villa alarm and there was a deputy at the door in about 15 minutes. I see more coppers in the US in two weeks than I do in a year here.

New York must hold some sort of record though. You can't walk more then about 5 minutes without seeing a cop!

are you certain that tourist areas are representative of the whole country?

I have no idea, but I would imagine out in the suburbs or less savoury end of town it’s not quite the same.

Indeed, can't speak for the US, but Stralia NSW, Police everywhere. It's almost like the Australians don't see the point in having Police sat doing office work, unlike the UK.
