Back in 1997 I was the proud owner of a mint genuine Turbo Technics Ford Capri 2.8i Special. I then met the love of my life who is now my wife and the car was sold to fund our honeymoon. Anyway i sold D468VPM to a man from Penzance for £3995, (could probably add another £20k to that nowadays) it then went on to be a feature car in Performance Ford magazine. Checked on the DVLA site and it shows a sorn in place so assuming it is still about, however no MOT details held.

Not looking to buy the car back, just taking a trip down memory lane and wondering if anyone has come across it or maybe even knows the current owner. It would be interesting to know where it's been since it left my ownership.

D468VPM, Ford Capri 2.8i Special Turbo in red, 15" 7 spoke RS alloys, also had bonnet pins fitted.

Maybe someone's seen it.

It has no online MOT record which suggests it has not been on the road for at least 13 years or so.

Maybe sat off the road being cared for or perhaps languishing at the bottom of someone's garden frown

I think the owners clubs are the best bet.....

Not sure if you are still around buddy.

I purchased your old car last week 90% through a full nut and bolt resto.

She looks a bit different now, and has been through a few owners by all accounts over the past few years whilst undergoing resto work.

Drop me a DM if you want any more info...

Wow, Did you stick the S decals on it? As the car is a 2.8i Special with the turbo conversion I am wondering why it would be badged as an S?

I have tried to email through your profile but you do not appear to accept email. If indeed it is my old car I would be very interested in seeing more pictures and reading about what's been done to it.

Regards Garry.

PS where is it now located?

Hi Garry

The car came to me with the decals, I am undecided on them at the moment.

Car is now in the West-midlands. I am new on here and have restricted permissions, if you drop me a personal email address i'll happily fill you in on things with her. smile

If it were me which of course it isn't the S decals would be removed, it's not an S it's a 2.8i Special TT. I will see if I can dig out some old photo's of it when I owned it. You can email me directly at grj68@sky.com

Cheers Garry.

Well it took 3 years from my first post to hearing from anyone so you never know.

Better news is that I am now in regular contact with Joe the current owner, not only will he be giving me regular updates on his progress, he has also invited me up to see the car once it is finished.

Happy Bloody Days.
