I heard he was in hospital.
Great drummer, but an appalling person, a violent bully and grumpy sod.
When in Cream he hated that Jack Bruce and Jack's lyricist partner Pete Brown got big royalty
cheques from writing the album tracks, Clapton told him to write songs and the band will gladly play them,
Baker came up with one or two not bad tracks [ What A Bringdown is great ] but inspiration was in short supply.
Even when he did get a pay cheque after a long tour he'd blow it on a new Ford Mustang, hookers and booze.
Clapton might have stayed on in Cream, but got fed up of Ginger and Jack's continual fighting.

They managed to rein it in for the UK concerts; as Clapton said later, they should have left it at that, but then they decided to add some US dates and it all fell apart.Yes it's them, Ginger has 'parked' his FF up in Barnes and they're wondering round the corner to Olympic Studios, some of my Mum's family still live close by (see the name above the shop on the corner).
That doc on Ginger was quite an eye opener, my Mrs couldn't watch more than about ten minutes before declaring ''what an unpleasant tw*t!''.
RIP Mr.Baker!

Wasn’t there the guy “Bizzarini” On here who wrote the books about his own car history? I remember there being a bit about GB and his paths crossing and GB had a 250 Ferrari in period. I believe he spent well on cars.
I'm sure I've read somewhere that he had a blue Daytona for many years. One of the few cars he apparently kept more than a few months. Those guys were lucky they reformed for the 2005 shows at the Albert hall. Crystal clear sound and vision of their legacy.
Non of the fuzzy rubbish most bands have as a record before a few members have departed.
Led Zep overbearing bully of a manager ensured they had mostly nothing but a pretentious and boring fantasy (concert) film to avoid paying their label.
Only so much money you can spend so the laugh is on them. O2 gig was too little too late really.
You can imagine Peter Grant diving into the crowd and beating them up for filming the gig on their phones lol.
