Shifting is all very well but they need to get on and do something before an election.

I can't see all these Tory Lib Dems keeping their seats, can you?

It feels like Boris is going to try something "clever" with the letter, unless it's just a case of blaming others for making him write it and hoping that's enough for an election to stave off TBP from hitting tory votes.

All this shifting is all very well
But until the most important shifter in the world - Anna Soubry shifts to the Lib Dems or the SNP or stands as a mayoral candidate for wherever then all this shifting will be of little importance.
Anna shifts the world listens

I went to school with a bloke called Stephen Dorrell, wonder if it's the same guy? Can't tell without any further info.

I didn't know he had left the party. It would have been better if the OP had said that or at least provided a link to the news story he was referring to.

So Pro European bloke quits Tory party for Change UK, decides they are going no-where and joins Lib Dems.

Colour me shocked.

And all that despite the magnetic personality of Anna Soubry

Just posting up someone's name and not explaining why is a bit rude. I look on PH as like a pub. Imagine if you are sitting around, chatting with your mates and suddenly someone just pipes up out of the blue - "Stephen Dorrell" - and then goes quiet again. You would think him/her bonkers. The natural reaction would be to say to that person "What about Stephen Dorrell?".
