Boot lid temperamental - fed up of it!

My boot latch drives me to distraction (Rapide) by now! Often have to stop and get out the car and re push boot down as it doesn't close properly first time. MD have been on it 2 years but say nothing can be done and there is no adjustment left. Any tips/ideas kindly received - its always close lid then push down with both palms to get it to latch properly (some of the time). Boot lid is also slightly proud and its not a brilliant shut line. No obstructions and have tried to sit the sealing rubber down as far as it can go.

Wonder if the boot seal has swollen slightly over the years? Worth changing that I reckon.

Thats a good idea mate - I am a bit tired of it on an otherwise fab reliable car.
