EU Travel question after 31st

Hoping someone that understands it all can maybe answer a question I have.
So as part of my project (Thread in readers cars) I've ordered a body kit for my car but rather than get it imported directly from Japan to the UK I thought it would be a laugh to get it delivered to the company i'm ordering it through in Germany and make a bit of a road trip to go get it hitting up a few big cities, the Nurburgring, etc on the way.
That was the plan and I didn't have any issues as previously it was set to all be done & dusted around the 18th of Oct, plenty of time. Now it's transpired that the kit won't be ready by then and Sod's law tells me that it'll be a November pick up date.
So If when i go to pick it up in a small SWB Van, and try to get it back across the eurotunnel whats the likelihood of getting a load of grief on the border for attempting to import it when in reality i'm just an individual, not a business of such, I had already paid for the product back in september and had already paid EU Import taxes on it back when i made the purchase.
Surely it can't be much different from the thought of having a holiday home in France and one day you decide to bring your TV from that holiday home with you to replace the one in your UK home?
I've not read much in to it and alot of info out there seems to be aimed at businesses so I wasn't sure if someone a bit more knowledgeable on the matter might be able to advise. Of course not trying to stir up any debates or anything.

This - but more likely is Brexit won’t happen at 1st Nov, or ever.However, take out medical insurance, though. If Brexit DOES happen, EHIC will not be valid.

At the risk of thread derailment...what on earth do either of those achieve? Someone has to give something up for a deal to be done. A 31 October deadline has the advantage of focusing minds. OP - in practical terms, and having previously lived and dealt with a hard border in Europe, you'll probably be fine with the right paperwork as things stand. Only when standards diverge, will customs have a vested interest in preventing importation. VAT might prove to be a bit of a bugger but you'll be a small fish in a recently expanded pond.

2 hours queuing to get through the border checks at Calais / Coquelles. It was ridiculous, everything was stacked back to the main A16 - couldn't see any reason for the hold up, other than they were very slow to process each vehicle.
If that's an indication of how things are before we bid au revoir to the EU, then I'll think I'll hop on a plane next time.

We can't leave with a deal now - not enough legislative time, even if there was one in the offing, which there isn't. I would expect a GE on the 28th of November, then it's time to roll the dice - but I'd expect a second referendum next Spring, and a further (final) extension to cover that.

Once we eventually got to the UK checkpoint, we were through in seconds.

It isn't a bad idea to simply get the delivery re-routed to the UK to save the hassle of it all. Not really my idea of fun fitting the kit over there and driving back as i'd really prefer a bit more time to do things properly and in the long run it saves me a fair bit of money.
Just thought it would be a bit of a laugh to turn it in to a bit of a holiday and to go to one of the Ring Rental companies to take one of their cars round the ring in the process.
Out of Curiosity what happens with the Eurotunnel if there's a hold up? If you arrive 45 minutes before your departure time but it takes 2 hours to get to passport control do you still get home or are you a bit screwed?
These might all be silly questions but it's a trip i've never done before.
Might just save my time & Money and book a trip to the ring next year when it dries up a bit

Out of Curiosity what happens with the Eurotunnel if there's a hold up? If you arrive 45 minutes before your departure time but it takes 2 hours to get to passport control do you still get home or are you a bit screwed?

As I recall Eurotunnel has a 2 hour window you can travel in. They're normally understanding when it comes to reasonable delays that you mentioned although I did have to pay extra when I was 4 hours late for my train.

I was talking to one of the border force bods at Hull while in the passport queue - he told me that come Brexit they were expecting 3 hour queues.2 hours queuing to get through the border checks at Calais / Coquelles. That's perfect thanks! I'm not doing it for business so surely the 2nd link doesn't apply but from the looks of it on the first link I may be okay seeing as i'd have already paid EU tax on the item? or alternatively I can get a refund on the VAT i've paid and pay it to the UK instead?Samjeev said:

We're in the EU, we'd need to have left by the time you pick the bodykit up in order to have to pay VAT and import duty to move the kit from the continent to the UK, which we won't.But if we had done, then you would reclaim the VAT already paid, then pay VAT and import duty when you brought it into the UK.
