Hello all, looking for some advice.

I have owned a 2011 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCi for around 9 months now but recently it seems to be losing power and throttle response is getting worse too. And tonight when changing from 4th into 5th gear a couple of times the engine felt and sounded very unhappy as if it was on the verge of stalling. I also had to have the pedal to the floor pretty much to get any acceleration in 5th gear. Any idea's what could be going on?

I only use this car for commuting to work which is a 13 mile trip (each way) on mostly fast b roads but I am worried it may be a DPF blockage problem as I'm aware a modern diesel should ideally be used for longer/ motorway journeys.

In the 9 months I've had it the DPF regen light has never come on but someone at work mentioned to me it can be "mapped out" in engine mappings to increase performance so I'm wondering if perhaps a previous owner may have done this and therefore the warning light is not illuminating? Is there any way I can find out?

Cheers in advance

A 13 mile commute will likely just have everything getting to running temps before you ark up and switch it off, take the car out at the weekend and give it a good long blast, or even find a different route home where you can add a few miles to the commute and keep the revs up for longer
