I’ve just found that my location could not be determined on Google maps and TomTom on my iPad. I’ve checked my location settings and they are correct. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the relevant apps and done a restart but I keep getting the “Location could not be determined” notice. No problems exist on my iPhone. Any ideas what’s causing this?

Does it have to be a 4G version?

Although they don't have GPS Ipads use wifi triangulation for location services. They have a massive crowdsourced i.e. everyones' iphones, database of hotspot locations.

Your issue sounds like a permissions thing.

I’ve used other networks with the same result. As I said all the settings are set up correctly. It’s not as though there’s been an IOS or Google upgrade recently. No problem at all with my iPhone. Most odd

IOS 13 or tablet OS or whatever it is was only a few weeks ago. My devices have popped up a few location permission dialogs since. Its still worth checking under your privacy settings.
