I am moving from a Samsung S8+ to a Note 10+. This is fine but I can get a 5G one for £100 more but will I need/use it?

I have the same phone on 5g but EE don't want to sell me a 5g plan for a sensible sum so until they do, they can spin. 5g isn't around me but would be nice to experience it when I go to London for example, but I'm not being penalised for being an early adopter.
My logic was it would be more desirable when I come to sell it and 5g is a bit more widespread.

Hi, if you change your phone within 2/3 years there is no need to consider paying more for 5G capability this time around. Right now the infrastructure isn't there/switched on to a level that you'll really experience a valuable benefit from it.

Save the money, spend it next time around.

Unless you are currently with Three (5G included in all current and new plans at no extra cost) and live in one of the places they are rolling 5G to before the end of this year, I wouldn’t bother.

Yes, because without 5G you will feel inadequate and slow. 4G just does not cut anymore and you will miss out on so much social media stuff that you will not cope.

5G isn't really necessary or worth investing in yet. when fully rolled out maybe, but no know needs it yet.

Yes, otherwise your friends down the pub will disown you and laugh at you in the corner on 4G.

That's better, if only we could get a decent phone signal even by shared masts in the UK it might be a start rolleyes

I'm due to change my Pixel XL 2 soon which I have had 2 years now, I'm going to hold off slightly for the Pixel 4 XL 5G to be released to future proof it slightly. I'm on a "5G ready" sim already.

I do visit quite a few of the places that have 5G rolled out already.
